Form: Global Exchange Process

Spring 13 | Form: Process for 'Global Exchange'

The product of a class I took at UCLA's design media arts department.

Creating a map drawing to be laser etched on the back of the wood cabinet. The laser cutter only fit about 30 inch pieces of wood, so I had to cut each panel of the box in 1/2, making 8 pieces of wood for one box.
The visualization process for this creation was challenging- concept sketches and constant recalculation produced a successful final product.

Laser Cutter: Uses red lines for cutting, blue for etching. can only be .001 stroke and true color

concept sketch: saved my life

it's getting printed!
